Schools across the nation celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week May 7 through 11 and, of course, Martha’s Table took the opportunity to celebrate our AMAZING teachers! National Teacher Appreciation Week has been organized since 1984 by the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) with the goal of honoring the teachers who lend their passion and skills to educating children.

Last week, Martha’s Table celebrated Week of the Young Child, a week of learning, fun, and appreciation for teachers, children and families hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

On March 29th, families and students from our education programs joined the Martha’s Table community for our annual Family Literacy Night! This year’s theme was “Blueprints for Literacy”.

Last week, we capped off the conclusion of our Healthy Connections summer programming with a pair of showcases where students shared the hard work they put in throughout the summer on a variety of creative projects.

The ground is “officially” broken on the Commons at Stanton Square, our new center in Ward 8! Although crews from Whiting-Turner have been hard at work clearing land and laying foundation for months, we marked the beginning of construction on our new site with a special ceremony on Tuesday, May 9th.
