About Recovery Café DC

Recovery Café DC is a compassionate and transformative community that provides healing and support to individuals who have been deeply impacted by addiction, mental health challenges, homelessness, and incarceration. Through a holistic approach, the café offers a safe and nurturing environment where men and women can access crucial resources, including counseling, peer support, and skill-building opportunities. This empowering space is dedicated to helping its members rebuild their lives and regain a sense of hope and purpose.

Recovery Café plans to use the CIF funds to improve and expand operations and outcomes as they move to a permanent location (1337 Good Hope Rd SE) offering peer recovery services.

About Martha’s Table Community Impact Fund: 
The Martha’s Table Community Impact Fund is a grant program that strengthens and amplifies the work of Ward 8 nonprofit organizations. This direct investment helps build capacity for organizations historically excluded from institutional philanthropy and whose leadership and staff reflect the demographic, composition, and lived experiences of the communities they serve. For the 2023-2024 grant cycle, grants of up to $15,000 in unrestricted funds were awarded to 14 organizations that were selected by a committee of 38 Ward 8 residents.
