Cutting a Path to Success: Barbers and Beauticians of the Future

Martha’s Table believes that when young people have the chance to explore their passions, develop skills, and receive support along the way, they can achieve incredible things. That’s why we’re excited to announce the official launch of our Barbers and Beauticians of the Future program—a new initiative designed to help youth explore and pursue careers in barbering and cosmetology.

This isn’t just another training program; it’s a career-building experience that enables young people to learn, grow, and earn while developing real-world skills. With over 400 applications submitted, we knew we were onto something important. After carefully reviewing applicants and conducting interviews, we’ve selected a group of motivated young people ready to explore these thriving industries.

“This program is set to empower our community with valuable skills and provide a pathway to meaningful careers in the beauty industry. We can’t wait to see the impact it will have on our youth in Ward 8.” –  Marco Price-Bey, Instructor 

 

What makes this program special is that it’s about opening doors to a future where creativity, skill, and hard work can lead to a sustainable career. Over the next nine weeks of training, participants will gain hands-on experience, build confidence, and explore a field they’re passionate about. We understand that transportation can be a barrier, which is why we’re offering transportation for the program’s Tuesday and Thursday evening sessions.

Ultimately, we’re focused on creating career pathways that matter—pathways that resonate with youth in our community and help them discover their potential. We’re proud to be part of this journey and can’t wait to see where it leads!
