Strong African American Families

Hosted by the Historic Anacostia Family Success Center.

An experience for youth and their caregivers. Grounded in cultural celebration and the wisdom of Black families, SAAF brings together parents and caregivers of youth ages 10 to 14 to deepen communication, strengthen family bonds, and elevate shared values.

Program /Benefits

In addition to a stipend, families are able to build:
Stronger Caregiver‑Youth Bonds

Sessions help caregivers stay connected and influential as their youth grow more independent.

Community Support & Connection

Caregivers build relationships with other families who share similar goals and experiences.

Effective Communication Tools

Learn strategies that make conversations with pre‑teens more open, calm, and productive.
