  • Donate Groceries

We accept sealed, unopened, and healthy grocery donations for our Lobby Market. Fresh fruits and vegetables are especially appreciated! When making donations, please ensure that groceries are fresh and that canned goods have not expired. In the event that you are planning a food drive, please give us a call at (202-808-8002 ext. 8044) to discuss any specific needs we may have.

Please read our guidelines before donating

NOTE: Donating more than 2 bags of groceries? Call our Food Donation team (202-808-8002 ext. 8044) or email donations@marthastable.org.

NOTE: Unfortunately, we are unable to accept rice or raisin donations. Thank you for your understanding and for your unwavering support!

  • Make Trail Mix Or Sandwiches

Every night, our mobile food truck, McKenna’s Wagon, rolls out to serve hot meals, fresh fruit, trail mix, and sandwiches to hundreds of neighbors who may be experiencing hunger or homelessness.

    Trail Mix

We’d like to encourage our community to donate homemade trail mix. Make your own ‘nut-free’ trail mix with whole grain cereal, pretzels, and more for distribution on McKenna’s Wagon. One cup of trail mix can easily fit in a snack-sized bag, and two cups are perfect for a bag that is sandwich-sized. Be creative–or find more ideas here!

    Sandwiches

We are grateful to receive hundreds of sandwich donations each day!

Please check our online scheduling calendar for the next available drop-off date. If certain dates are unavailable, that means we have reached max capacity for scheduled donations. Due to limited storage space at The Maycroft, we cannot accept unscheduled food donations.

Thank you in advance for helping us ensure we have the storage capacity to receive your sandwich donations! If you have additional questions, please e-mail: donations@marthastable.org. We appreciate your support and understanding!

We ask that sandwiches are either peanut butter and jelly, or meat and cheese, and are made with whole wheat bread. Please individually wrap sandwiches in sandwich bags (please no aluminum foil) so that they can easily be distributed, and refrain from applying condiments to extend shelf life. When possible, we ask that sandwich bags are labeled to indicate sandwich type, or are stored in boxes labeled either “Peanut Butter & Jelly” or “Meat & Cheese” for ease of distribution, and so that we can determine which sandwiches require refrigeration!

For sandwich donations guidelines please view our Sandwich Making Kit.

NOTE: We are in need of meat and cheese sandwiches made with whole wheat bread.

  • Bake Muffins

In an effort to provide quality and healthy options to all of our guests, we serve homemade muffins on McKenna’s Wagon every evening. In addition to volunteering at Martha’s Table during a “Baking Enthusiast” volunteer shift, you can bake at home and drop off muffins.

  • Cook a (big) One-Pot Meal

We provide more than 100,000 made-from-scratch one-pot meals every year to neighbors in need. Consider adopting McKenna’s Wagon for a night (or week!) by donating a one-pot meal for 200 people. Please call our food donation hotline at 202-808-8002 (ext. 8044) or email donations@marthastable.org for more information.

  • Guidelines

Please consult our guidelines for a list of items that we can and can not accept. When making a food donation, please complete an In-Kind Food Donation Form so that we can thank you!

Please do not include monetary donations with your packaged items, as they might get lost! Monetary donations can be mailed to Martha’s Table, PO Box 97260, Washington, DC 20090-7260, or dropped off separately during regular hours of operation. You can learn more about making a financial donation to Martha’s Table here.
