Keeping Our Community Warm

As the cooler weather arrives, having a warm coat can make all the difference. At Martha’s Table, we see coats as more than seasonal gear. They are a way to help our neighbors stay comfortable, confident, and ready for whatever the season may bring. We’re excited to share some important updates about how we’ll be distributing winter coats this year.

What’s New in 2025?

Instead of hosting a single giveaway day, we will distribute new and previously loved winter coats at Martha’s Outfitters, our no-cost clothing boutique in the heart of Anacostia. During November, Martha’s Outfitters Clothing Program members can receive up to four coats in addition to their regular monthly credit.

Martha’s Outfitters is more than a place to get a coat. It is a place where DC residents can explore a wide selection of new and gently used coats, professional attire for adults, children’s clothing, and more. Everything is offered at no cost in a respectful environment that celebrates community.

Our updated approach gives neighbors more choice and flexibility. By offering coats all season long, we’re extending our care beyond a single event, standing alongside the community we serve every step of the way. – Laura Grossman, Martha’s Outfitters Program Manager
