As the season of gratitude unfolds, we’re reflecting on one of our most cherished events of the year—the Community Harvest Dinner. This gathering is more than just a meal; it’s a celebration of community, connection, and shared moments that remind us all of the power we have when we come together.
This year’s event was nothing short of magical, bringing together a wonderful mix of familiar faces and new ones. With more than 2,300 attendees, the gathering was filled with laughter, heartfelt conversations, and, of course, delicious food!
At this year’s Community Harvest Dinner, we were thrilled to have chefs from the Culinary Miracle Innovator, Mama Tee’s Kitchen, Wolfmoon Catering, and SideDish Queen, many from our Community Kitchen Initiative, showcase their culinary skills by serving up a mouthwatering spread that truly celebrated the season. The menu was a feast for the senses, featuring a variety of dishes made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, all prepared with love and care.
What made this event truly special wasn’t just the food—it was the sense of connection that brought everyone together. As neighbors gathered around the table, they shared more than just a meal—they shared conversations, stories, and moments of genuine connection.
At Martha’s Table, we know that when we support one another, we create something truly special—whether through a shared meal, a conversation, or simply by showing up for each other. The Community Harvest Dinner created a space where people could come together, appreciate their differences, and feel valued. The collaborative energy that filled the room was a powerful reminder of the strength and spirit of our community, reflected in every conversation and connection. – Charlie Gussom, Director of Community Programs
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable event—neighbors, chefs, volunteers, and friends. Your presence and energy made the day truly special. We’re already excited for the next opportunity to come together and celebrate everything that makes our community shine.
A heartfelt thank you to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church for providing such a welcoming gathering space, to Ward 8 Youth Ahmad Woodard, Indy Bees Dance Team, Lenny Kurlou & the Reggae Allstars, and The Rocksteady Band for filling the day with vibrant live music, and to all who organized activities for children and families. Each of you contributed to creating an unforgettable experience for everyone.
If you’d like to get involved in future events, volunteer, or support our work in building strong children, strong families, and strong communities, we’d love to have you join us!

Martha’s Outfitters is more than a no-cost community clothing boutique. It is a place where DC neighbors come together, whether they are picking out a professional outfit, shopping for children’s clothes, or lending a hand to help others. At the heart of it all are our volunteers, who keep the boutique running smoothly and welcoming for everyone.
