Honoring the Legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. devoted his life to service and justice. At Martha’s Table, we carry his legacy forward by fostering community care and connection year-round. Dr. King once asked, “What are you doing for others?” His words remind us that service is more than a moment; it’s a lifelong commitment to making a positive difference.

Our annual MLK Day of Service is a meaningful opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s vision and take action toward supporting strong children, strong families, and strong communities.

“Dr. King’s life reminds us that service is the highest expression of love and community. At Martha’s Table, we rely on volunteers to continue his legacy of unity and compassion. Every hour you give strengthens our work to create a brighter, more equitable future—because when we serve others, we build something bigger than ourselves.” – Keith Keys, Community Development Manager

Honoring Dr. King’s Legacy Year-Round

At Martha’s Table, we believe in the power of service to strengthen our community. Through programs that support education, health and wellness, and economic opportunity, we work alongside families to build a brighter future.

There are many ways to get involved—volunteer your time, share kindness in your neighborhood, or make a contribution to support our programs. Every action, big or small, helps ensure families have the resources they need to thrive.
