Mixing Care, Cuisine, and Community: Healthy Happy Hour at Martha’s Table
Learning to prioritize health and wellness can feel heavy on our own, but alongside others, it can be heartening. At Martha’s Table, Healthy Happy Hour is the ideal blend of health, happiness, and community.
Our active year-round, Healthy Happy Hour is a weekly series focused on amplifying ways to care for nutritional, social, and emotional wellness. With access to our lush garden terrace, participants can find fresh vegetation, a relaxed setup, and a lovely open view, providing a calm and comforting atmosphere. Each week features wellness activities, creating an opportunity to connect personally with ourselves and with one another. Activities range from group yoga to wellness trivia to art-making, and even birdhouse decorating.
In alignment with our mission to support strong children, strong families, and strong communities, we promote food accessibility in DC. Each meeting offers delicious drinks and food options. Beat the summer heat and join in on community building and fresh mocktails, such as a pomegranate lime seltzer, mint lemonade, watermelon fresca, or blueberry and peach smoothies! Our in-house Nutritionist, Katherine Donnelly, creates delectable and diverse seasonal healthy snack menus, prepared by Chef Gigi from our Community Kitchen Entrepreneur program. Even better, you can learn to make these snacks at home! Through our cooking demonstrations, mini-market, and recipe cards, you are presented with produce items from each menu to simplify and support your wellness journey.
