Community Harvest Dinner: A No-Cost Fall Meal for DC Neighbors

Reading time: min

Table of Contents

The Community Harvest Dinner is our annual fall celebration, where neighbors gather for a seasonal meal, live music, and family fun in Southeast, DC. We host it each November with Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Picture the smell of slow-cooked greens, kids racing to an activity table, and neighbors who met last year waving each other over to say hello. In 2025, we served hundreds of meals and filled the room with laughter, dancing, and gratitude (read the 2025 recap). This year, we’re ready to do it again, and we want you there.

What food is served at the Community Harvest Dinner?

Guests enjoy a Thanksgiving-style dinner made with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and prepared by local chefs, many of them connected to Martha’s Table’s Community Kitchen Initiative. Last year’s menu featured turkey, collard greens, cornbread, and mac and cheese.

Beyond the plate, you can expect:

  • Live music and dancing to keep the energy high all afternoon
  • Family-friendly activities for kids of every age
  • Time to connect with neighbors, volunteers, and Martha’s Table staff and partners
