As the cooler weather arrives, having a warm coat can make all the difference. At Martha’s Table, we see coats as more than seasonal gear. They are a way to help our neighbors stay comfortable, confident, and ready for whatever the season may bring. We’re excited to share some important updates about how we’ll be distributing winter coats this year.
Instead of hosting a single giveaway day, we will distribute new and previously loved winter coats at Martha’s Outfitters, our no-cost clothing boutique in the heart of Anacostia. During November, Martha’s Outfitters Clothing Program members can receive up to four coats in addition to their regular monthly credit.
Martha’s Outfitters is more than a place to get a coat. It is a place where DC residents can explore a wide selection of new and gently used coats, professional attire for adults, children’s clothing, and more. Everything is offered at no cost in a respectful environment that celebrates community.
Our updated approach gives neighbors more choice and flexibility. By offering coats all season long, we’re extending our care beyond a single event, standing alongside the community we serve every step of the way. – Laura Grossman, Martha’s Outfitters Program Manager
Each month, members receive a shopping credit to explore Martha’s Outfitters to shop at no cost for children’s clothing and professional attire for adults.
Interested in shopping at Martha’s Table? DC residents can join by visiting Martha’s Outfitters with a valid photo ID and proof of DC residency. Learn how you can become a member here!
Providing winter warmth is a community effort and relies heavily on volunteers and supporters! Here’s how you can get involved:
During November, members can receive up to four coats, separate from their regular monthly credit. Coats include a mix of new and gently used adult and children’s styles and are available while supplies last. We anticipate about 100 coats per day.
To become a member of Martha’s Outfitters and access coats, clothing, and other resources, you’ll need a membership card.
Membership options:
Classic Membership (Blue Card): For residents of the 20020 zip code, $40 per month.
Select Membership (White Card): For DC residents outside the 20020 zip code, $20 per month.
Your membership also unlocks access to fresh, healthy produce at no cost through Martha’s Table Markets.

Do you have additional questions or want to get involved? Please email us at marthasoutfitters@marthastable.org or visit our website at https://marthastable.org/outfitters.
