About Project Create DC

Project Create is a community-based nonprofit that has been dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families in Washington DC for thirty years. They aim to foster creative youth development through multi-disciplinary arts education, arts enrichment, and art therapy. The organization offers free art classes and workshops in the Anacostia neighborhood of Southeast DC in Ward 8, as well as in other underserved neighborhoods in Washington, DC.

Their programs include visual, performing, and digital media arts classes such as drawing, painting, illustration, photography, collage, spoken word, fashion, music production, and theater.

Project Create plans to use the Community Impact Funds to expand their programming to better serve teens and older youth, demonstrating their commitment to providing valuable resources to those who need them most.

About Martha’s Table Community Impact Fund:
The Martha’s Table Community Impact Fund is a grant program that strengthens and amplifies the work of Ward 8 nonprofit organizations. This direct investment helps build capacity for organizations historically excluded from institutional philanthropy and whose leadership and staff reflect the demographic, composition, and lived experiences of the communities they serve. For the 2023-2024 grant cycle, grants of up to $15,000 in unrestricted funds were awarded to 14 organizations that were selected by a committee of 38 Ward 8 residents.
