Adventure Awaits: Field Trip to Nova Wild

Our recent adventure took students on an exciting field trip to Nova Wild, where they had the opportunity to experience wildlife up close and personal for Washington DC’s youngest learners. They encountered a variety of animals, including red river hogs, llamas, American bison, and cows. Hands-on experiences like these are core to our community-centered education and school-readiness program, igniting curiosity, enhancing learning, and creating lasting memories!

Bright Futures Start Early: Child Savings Accounts

In partnership with the DC College Savings Plan, our Dietra L. Ford Child Savings Account program invests in children’s futures and helps bridge the wealth gap. Every child enrolled for a full academic year receives a $1,000 seed investment in a Child Savings Account, giving families a head start towards college, training, or other dreams. $158,000 has already been invested into the accounts of 158 students as of January 2026. Families can continue to grow these savings over time, building a foundation for long-term success.

At Martha’s Table, we are deeply committed to making sure every child and family has the resources they need to thrive. We offer high-quality early care and education experiences, alongside participation in the Child Savings Account program, which plants seeds of opportunity and fiscal support for the future. Joining Martha’s Table Early Childhood Education program means being a part of a lifelong community invested in your child’s success. Each summer, just before school starts, we welcome families back to our annual alumni mixer, a heartfelt celebration of community, going beyond a back-to-school event! Families come together to reconnect, share memories, and make new ones as they prepare for the year ahead. Children pick out new backpacks and school supplies, and everyone enjoys a delicious meal among friends old and new. Events like these remind us that education and partnership extend beyond the classroom.
