As the school year ends, many children across Washington, DC, look forward to a season of fun and freedom. However, for thousands of families in DC, the end of the school year also marks the end of reliable access to school meals. That gap puts real strain on households already stretched thin by rising food costs.
At Martha’s Table, we are committed to bridging that gap. Through our Summer Joyful Food Markets, we bring weekly, no-cost grocery markets into eight neighborhood locations across Wards 7 and 8 every Tuesday through Friday. These afternoon markets provide families with fresh produce, healthy pantry staples, cooking demonstrations, and more!
Here’s where you come in.
On June 12, we invite you to join our day of collective action to ensure children and families across Washington, DC, have access to fresh, healthy food all summer long.
Thanks to a generous match from our partners at Giant Food, every donation made now through June 30 will be doubled, up to $50,000.
Exciting Update!
Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, our matching campaign just got a huge boost — your gift will now be TRIPLED, up to $100,000! This means:
Make a matched donation by June 30 to support our Summer Joyful Food Markets and help families access fresh produce and healthy food. Every dollar makes a difference.
We depend on the dedication of dozens of volunteers each week to keep our markets joyful!
Volunteer alongside our Market Leaders to help set up, assist neighbors, and create a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere at every market.
Your time and energy make a huge impact and, together, we can build a community where everyone feels supported and connected.
Join us on June 12 for the Day of Giving—and stay with us all summer long. Together, we can make a lasting difference.

Martha’s Outfitters is more than a no-cost community clothing boutique. It is a place where DC neighbors come together, whether they are picking out a professional outfit, shopping for children’s clothes, or lending a hand to help others. At the heart of it all are our volunteers, who keep the boutique running smoothly and welcoming for everyone.
