We believe every Washingtonian deserves the opportunity to thrive. We support strong children, strong families, and strong communities by increasing access to quality education, health and wellness, and family resources.
“Martha’s Table is committed to treating Washingtonians with dignity and respect in everything we do.”
“The teachers at Martha’s Table go above and beyond. They’ve helped me transition Zayli to her own bed, helped get her potty trained, and even helped me work out academic and professional goals for myself.”
“What’s great about Martha’s Table is that for over 40 years we’ve been constantly evolving”
“I am surprised at the impact that the Joyful Food Market has had on my family…the entire family tries to incorporate new fruits and vegetables into our diets now.”
“The no-cost lobby market keeps my pantry stacked and my wallet full. So, I stop by once a month. I feel welcomed every time.”
“I am grateful to be a part of Martha’s Table. As a teacher, we leave our egos at the door and are fully present. We teach the whole child and sing and play as a way of learning. They do not just sit to be tested. They prepare socially and emotionally as well as academically for Kindergarten.”
“Too often, families in need are forced to navigate a confusing network of service providers to access resources. Martha’s Table has committed to scaling up our cash assistance programs over the next five years. “
“The Joyful Food Market brings so much to our community. My girls love the foods that the chef prepares and I love that…I take the recipes home and introduce these things to the rest of my family.”

The Quilt Corner is a collective of people with interest in learning how to quilt and expand the impact of quilting within the community at large through a deeper understanding of the Quilt Codes of the Underground Railroad. With multiple cohorts throughout the year, members meet every Thursday to learn about the patterns & techniques, history, and impact of quilting as the group creates a community quilt together. The Quilt Corner is led by Charlene Hursey and self-taught quilter Dr. Blanche Brownley, who started her quilting journey by watching how-to videos on Facebook and reading quilting books.
