A Partnership Program
Volunteer at our pop-up markets to distribute free, fresh groceries and help spread the joy of healthy eating to children and families across the District! Through Martha’s Table’s Adopt-A-Market partnership program, organizations, social groups, religious organizations, university clubs, work teams, or inspired friends can select one of our monthly school markets to adopt. Adopting a school market requires that each group provide 5-7 volunteers for a market shift every month for the school year.
As an Adopt a Market partner, your group will assist with the distribution of healthy groceries and will co-lead healthy eating activities with children and families. Your group will have the opportunity to form lasting bonds with neighbors across the District while tackling food insecurity in a DC Public School. Each distributed grocery bag, full of fresh produce and healthy pantry staples, is taken home to fridges and cupboards, and amounts to roughly 19 meals per child.
For nearly 40 years, Martha’s Table has worked to support strong children, strong families, and strong communities by increasing access to quality education programs, healthy food, and family supports. Volunteers are critical to Martha’s Table’s work and to expanding our market program.
