Martha’s Table Student Ambassador Program Details

A Student Ambassador at Martha’s Table is a college undergraduate or graduate student who is passionate about community engagement. Martha’s Table will select two (2) students from each college and university in the DC metro area.

Ambassadors will develop and improve skills such as leadership, public speaking, collaboration and networking. They will attend monthly training sessions, led by Martha’s Table Staff, that will focus on how to start and manage a non-profit organization. By the end of the program, they will have developed a business plan for a non-profit.

Additionally, Ambassadors will be paired with an elementary school and learn how to recruit volunteers for our Joyful Food Market. A Joyful Food Market gives students groceries once a month free of charge. This part of the program will help build the Ambassador’s recruitment and networking skills.

To be eligible to enter Martha’s Table’s Student Ambassador Program, one must:

  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 based on a 4.0 scale;
