Pre-K Promotion Ceremony Celebrates Young Students and their Families

Congratulations to DC’s newest class of graduates! We are so proud of our young students in our Toddler and Preschool classes, who are moving onto the next stage in their lifelong journey of learning.

This year’s graduation was themed after Dr. Seuss’s Oh, The Places You’ll Go!, a perfect way to celebrate the limitless potential of our students as they grow to be all they can be. We honored students and their families with a special ceremony held at Busboys and Poets on 14th Street and a reception on the playground at Martha’s Table. At the ceremony, students entered the stage, sunglasses on, and sang a duo of musical numbers. Afterward, parents took the stage to congratulate the students and speak to the immense growth of their own children.

It has been a true honor to watch these students grow from infants to toddlers as they’ve progressed through our program, developing new skills and learning to believe in themselves. “These students are entering pre-kindergarten with a solid foundation to grow from. Our teachers have spent the past few years with them building literacy and cognitive skills, as well as working with parents, who are a child’s first teacher,” says Beatriz Barros, Assistant Director of the Healthy Start program.

Although we’ll sorely miss spending time with each of our graduating students, we know they’re ready for their next big adventure!
