Martha’s Table re-opens its kitchen after 15 days of much-needed renovations. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is slated to take place February 12. During the ceremony, Edward Allera, a co-managing shareholder of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, will present Martha’s Table with a check for $30,000 to match the amount raised for the kitchen renovations through Buchanan’s matching grant program.
Poised to undertake an unparalleled period of expansion and growth during the next several years, the kitchen renovations at Martha’s Table were crucial.
“The demand for good food and quality nutrition education is enormous and the need is especially strong among the population we serve,” said Michael Bartscherer, Interim President. “Before the renovations we lacked a proper facility to maximize our efforts and impact in this area.”
Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney stepped forward to help fund these crucial renovations by matching donations from their employees, other businesses, and the community. With the goal to secure funding for the majority of the $100,000 kitchen renovation project, Buchanan pledged to match donations, up to $30,000.
“We wanted to be more involved in this great community we work in, and Martha’s Table—which has such a positive impact on our community—truly needed our support,” said Allera. “We hope that the momentum created by our matching grant continues and that donations continue to roll in.”
Additional donations in the form of materials and labor were donated by a number of vendors during the project:
