Building A Brighter Future: Sequoya’s Story

I’ve been teaching at Martha’s Table for ten years, and I celebrate every day as a new opportunity to open my students’ eyes to the world around them. At Martha’s Table, we provide high-quality early childhood education–not just childcare. If you walked into my classroom, it might look like we’re just playing. But we’re actually building cognitive skills and literacy through games and activities. My job means so much to me because I grew up in a community that lacked access to high quality education for children, similar to the communities that many of my students come from. I know how important it is for children to get a healthy start in life.
