Mrs. Obama’s Mentees Visit Martha’s Table

IT’S WONDERFUL WHEN PEOPLE, LOCALLY AND FROM THE ACROSS THE POND, COME TOGETHER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY.

Today First Lady Michelle Obama’s mentees from high schools in DC, MD and VA & students from the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Secondary School in London volunteered in our Food & Dacyare Programs!

They cut vegetables in the food program, helped Aunty Oye with a nutrition workshop and got active with pre-k and the Fit Kids DC team on the playground.

After their volunteer session, our President, Lindsey Buss taught them about the history of Martha’s Table.  He led a discussion around nonprofit organizations, including topics such as the importance of volunteerism and funding.
