Meals for Minds: September: URGENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Thanks to the hard work of Target and Martha’s Table volunteers and donors, the Meals for Minds kick off event last month was a success.  Martha’s Table was able to distribute over 300 pantry bags filled with healthy perishable and non-perishable food items to families in need.

Martha’s Table recently received a grant from Target to extend our pantry food distribution to two DC public schools, Amidon-Bowen and Garrison Elementary.  Read more about the Meals for Minds program here.  We will go into the schools monthly and distribute specific items to families in need. This months distribution dates are September 20th and 21st.

We are looking for volunteers (can be a group or individual) to help load and distribute pantry bags to families in need.  Volunteers are needed from 4 to 7 pm.

Tuesday, September 20th we need 20 volunteers.

Wednesday, September 21st we need 8 volunteers.

If you are interested, please contact Martin (information below)

If you would like to donate food towards our Meals for Minds program, please visit the amazon wish list.  The pantry bags are filled with donated non-perishable and perishable items.  As it is hard to gather all of the perishable items such as meat and dairy days before the event, we are asking for monetary donations or gift cards desiganted towards the Meals for Minds program instead.
