Letter From Patty Stonesifer

Dear Friend,

The holidays are a wonderful time to gather with friends and family, create beautiful memories, and share hearty meals.

But what would this season mean to you if you suffered from hunger?

Sadly, hunger is a reality in our nation’s capital, where one in three children are without reliable access to healthy food.

That’s why Martha’s Table provides healthy food and nutrition education throughout the District. This year, we’ve supplied more than 1 million healthy meals to hungry children, families, and neighbors.

This number speaks to the power of your support, and also—sadly—to the level of need in this city.

In the enclosed newsletter you will learn how—thanks to your generosity—aspiring 7th grade chef Robert is learning about healthy eating, and Martha’s Table alum Mohamed is beginning his first year of medical school.

Your dedication makes our work possible, and I hope you will consider also sending a donation to support these important programs. As the year comes to a close, can you spare $20, $50, or even $75 to put food on the table for children and their families?

Your gift will ensure that children are fed well past this holiday season, so they can develop properly, and reach their full potential as learners, leaders, and earners.

Thank you so much—we couldn’t do this without you! Happy holidays.

Yours in service,

Patty Stonesifer President & CEO

P.S. This holiday season, let’s make sure no child in the nation’s capital goes hungry. Please consider making a generous gift today.
