Barbara Washburn


Barbara Washburn is a retired Government Affairs Executive of General Motors Corporation and, prior to that, the Control Data Corporation. Her career has encompassed work for two U.S. Senators and for the Senate Agriculture Committee, where she was responsible for child nutrition and food stamp legislation. She has also practiced law, managed education grants for the U.S. Office of Economic Opportunity, and taught high school classes. Ms. Washburn is also active in her church. She holds degrees from Duke University (B.A.), Harvard University (Master of Arts in Teaching), and Georgetown University (J.D.). Barbara Washburn has served on the Martha’s Table Board of Directors since December 1986 and served as Board Chair from 1995 until 2008.
