Community Harvest Dinner – Every year, Martha’s Table hosts a community Harvest Dinner the Sunday before Thanksgiving (November 22 this year), where we transform our center into a sit-down restaurant for Martha’s Table families, staff, volunteers, and neighbors to enjoy delicious food and holiday joy. Last year about 500 people gathered to share dinner and celebrate the holidays, and all guests received warm thermal underwear, gloves, and hats as a parting gift. Another 300 meals were distributed as carryout and through McKenna’s Wagon after the dinner.
We need your help to make this year’s dinner another success! Please see below for the “menu” of ways you can support our Community Harvest Dinner. Your gift of any size is greatly appreciated as we prepare for the busy holiday season.
Holiday Grocery Bags – In addition to our ongoing healthy grocery distributions, we provide families with a holiday grocery bag during the holiday season. This bag includes everything necessary to enjoy a delicious holiday meal – items like stuffing, canned pumpkin, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, and of course … TURKEY!
Holiday grocery bags are distributed at our community center markets, as well as through our emergency food program operated out of our lobby market. We anticipate providing over 600 holiday grocery bags at our Community Markets, and an additional 650 holiday grocery bags through our emergency lobby market.
In order to send families home with a holiday dinner, we are looking for:
∙ Canned beans
∙ Canned pumpkin
∙ Canned soup
∙ Canned chicken
∙ Canned fruit (in juice)
∙ Low-sugar cereal
∙ Coffee & tea
∙ Fresh produce!
We are also eager for donations of reusable grocery bags! Please help us send every family home with a bag of all the essentials to enjoy a holiday meal!
Every year, Martha’s Table receives thousands of quality food donations from our supporters. But did you know that our wholesale purchasing power means we can buy twice as much food with your donation as you could buy at a grocery store?
Please do not donate any junk food or candy. Click here for additional food donation guidelines.
