Sips & Suppers is a major celebration of food and community in Washington, D.C. It was founded 2009 by noted chefs José Andrés, Joan Nathan, and Alice Waters to raise awareness of hunger and food insecurity in our nation’s capital, while advancing local, sustainable solutions to these challenges. More than a decade later, this experiment succeeded beyond their wildest ambitions. Since its inception, Sips & Suppers has raised nearly $4.5 million, providing more than 9 million healthy meals to D.C. residents.
Taking place on January 26, 2020, the event enters its 12th year and will offer intimate dinners hosted in private homes throughout the D.C. region, featuring renowned local and national chefs. These exclusive suppers combine custom menus crafted by top culinary talent with the vibrancy and robust conversation of a family meal, creating a truly unique dining experience.
Our hosts and chefs offer their time, talents, and homes to participate in these special evenings of exceptional food, wine, and conversation. For the first time ever, in 2020, 100% of proceeds from Sips & Suppers will benefit Martha’s Table and our mission to support strong children, strong families, and strong communities in the District of Columbia by increasing access to healthy food, education, and family resources.
