Building a Brighter Future: Rob’s Story

I was born and raised in Southeast D.C., and I know how difficult it can be for families in my community to access affordable, healthy food. At Martha’s Table, I have the opportunity to do what I love while standing with the community I call home. I spend each afternoon as a Chef Educator at one of our 39 pop-up Joyful Food Markets in local elementary schools. At the markets, I invite children and their families to help me cook and learn recipes using ingredients available at the markets. It’s a great way to get children excited about trying new foods and build healthy habits for life.

Thanks for the cooking class online yesterday. The jollof rice 🍛 was amazing. My grandson and I had a great time.
