Power, Purpose, Possibility! Martha’s Table Annual Benefit Returns!

Celebrating Power, Purpose, and Possibility: Join Us for the Martha’s Table Annual Benefit on Sunday, October 6th!

At Martha’s Table, we celebrate the power and strength of our community. For over four decades, we’ve worked alongside our neighbors to support families in their journey to thrive in Washington, DC. This year, we invite you to join us on Sunday, October 6th for an extraordinary evening as we embrace the theme of “Purpose, Power, and Possibility.

The Annual Benefit is more than just a gathering—it’s a celebration of the purpose that drives us, the power found in collaboration, and the possibilities that emerge when we invest in our community. This year, we are honored to recognize two trailblazers whose lives and work embody these values: Ms. Cathy Hughes and Joe Houston.

Cathy Hughes, a media pioneer and the founder of Urban One, has spent her career amplifying underrepresented voices and advocating for social change. As the first African American woman to chair a publicly traded company, Ms. Hughes has broken barriers and paved the way for countless others in the media industry. Her unwavering commitment to empowering communities through information and education has made her a trailblazer and an influential force in shaping public discourse. Ms. Hughes’s work exemplifies the power of purpose-driven leadership, and we are proud to honor her at this year’s Annual Benefit for her remarkable contributions to media and society.

Joe Houston Jr., a proud Washington, DC native, is a dynamic wellness professional and the visionary behind WeFitDC, earning him the well-deserved title of “Mr. WeFit.” With over a decade of experience in fitness, Mr. Houston has dedicated himself to empowering his community through energizing fitness events, impactful mental health initiatives, and motivational speaking. We are honoring Mr. Houston for his outstanding contributions to wellness in our city and his deep commitment to the young people of Martha’s Table. As a travel ambassador and mentor, he has played a vital role in supporting youth transitioning into adulthood, guiding them on Global Passport trips, including the program’s inaugural international journey to Panama this summer. Mr. Houston’s work exemplifies the possibilities that arise from investing in our future generations, and we are proud to celebrate his impact on October 6th.

Join us for a night that promises to be unforgettable—a night where we honor the past, embrace the present, and look forward to the endless possibilities that await. Your presence will help us to continue to ensure every family in DC has what they need to succeed.

Let’s celebrate Power, Purpose, and Possibility together on Sunday, October 6th. We can’t wait to see you there!
