A Unique Collection of Local Art!

04.30.2018

Art has the power to define a place. As Martha’s Table prepares to open The Commons this summer, we wanted to make sure that the people and places in our new neighborhood had a big hand in inspiring the building’s look and feel. We’re doing this through art from local artists who are committed to our mission and share our belief that every child, regardless of race, income, or zip code, deserves the opportunity for their brightest future.

Led by D.C.-based artist and curator Amber Robles-Gordon, and with guidance from our Art Selection Committee, we engaged our entire staff in a process to vote on the pieces of art that will be displayed in The Commons. As we begin a year of learning and growing in our new community we wanted to demonstrate that our intention is for The Commons to be a place where community thrives and everyone is welcome.

Join us at The Commons’ Grand Opening on June 23rd from 12PM-4PM for tours of our new home, program previews, healthy food tasting and more! Follow us on social media to stay informed about our series of exciting summer events!
