Hours
We accept referrals on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Please ask your clients to arrive no later than 11:45 am to ensure that we have time to assist them.
Getting Started
To begin referring clients, please contact Gyasi Payton via email at Turn on JavaScript!. We will ask your organization to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that outlines the conditions of the program. After signing the MOU, you will be able to refer clients directly to our store.
Guidelines for Referrals:
1. Our referral hours are Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and we ask that clients arrive by 11:45 AM. Please be certain your clients are aware of our hours and that our referral hours are clearly stated on the referral form.
2. Please print referral forms on your organization’s letterhead and legibly print or type the client’s name and date of birth. Each form must also be signed by a representative of the agency and include our hours of operation.
3. Please complete a referral form for each visit and for every adult you refer to us. Children under 18 may be added to a parent’s referral. Please note the number of children, their names, and their ages. Each adult referred to us must also bring identification with them each time they visit under the referral program.
4. Referral forms will be honored for 30 days.
5. In order for us to serve as many agencies as possible, please refer no more than 15 individuals per month. If you have any questions regarding this limit, please speak with the Director of Martha’s Outfitters.
6. Due to inventory constraints, everyone referred to us will only be permitted to obtain clothing for free once every two months. However, they are welcome to shop at Martha’s Outfitters and will find clothing for themselves and their children very affordably priced (e.g., $1.00 for shirts, $2.00 for pants, etc.).
7. Please be explicit with respect to the items you are asking to be provided. Each individual will be able to obtain two tops, one or two bottoms, shoes and undergarments (all depending on availability) upon each visit; however, special items such as housewares, linens, towels, and suits must be specifically requested. (We have limited supplies of these items, so please be judicious.)
8. Please arrange for clients who require special assistance while shopping to be accompanied to the shop.
With over 3,500 people requesting our services each year, it is important we help those most in need. We rely on your caseworkers to evaluate this need and refer clients most in need of our assistance.
