Nordstrom’s Volunteers @ Martha’s Outfitters with United Way
Nordstrom Pentagon City teamed up with United Way of the National Capital Area (UWNCA) to bring their expertise to Martha’s Outfitters 14th St. The volunteer work was part of United Way’s annual workplace giving campaign which seeks to give organizations and their employees the opportunity to learn about their community’s needs and give them an avenue to get involved.
Nordstrom staff organized inventory, provided insights on store layout, layered clothes and put smiles on customers’ faces. Anitra, Nordstrom Point of View Department Manager, explained the importance of merchandising, “The racks are looser and the clothes are organized according to size and color, making it easier for shoppers to find what they’re looking for.” Charisma, Nordstrom Children’s Department Manager, reflected on her experience at Martha’s Outfitters: “The best part about volunteering here is that you’re helping people find that top for a job interview or clothes for their child.”
Gysai, Martha’s Outfitter’s store manager, was grateful for the help, announcing to the group, “We’re going to need you guys to come back every 60 days!”
Thank you United Way and Nordstrom for improving the shopping experience at Martha’s Outfitters!
