#MTWellness Challenge: Building Staff Comradery at Martha’s Table
During the Month of March, or National Nutrition Month, Martha’s Table staff competed in the first ever #MTWellness Challenge. Over 40 staff members competed alongside each other with walking clubs during lunchtime, eating more fruits and vegetables and walking over 10,000 steps a day.
Caron Gremont, Director of Healthy Eating at Martha’s Table, developed the challenge with staff across the organization as a way to kickstart and connect our mission to build healthier and brighter futures, internally. Throughout the #MTWellness challenge staff built relationships across departments and programs through healthy eating at lunch and exercise during yoga and Barre 3 classes.
The various point categories allowed staff to improve upon their current health and strive for personal goals. Each week participants with some of the highest point totals were entered into a raffle to win prizes such as juicers, blenders and water bottles.
Participants could accumulate up to 50 points a day through their healthy activities. On average most participants racked up at least 25-35 a day! Our grand prize winner was Tim with over 540 total points, with Sherree and Susan in 2nd and 3rd place. Hana and Ashley were recognized for best participation and enthusiasm. Congratulations to all of our winners and participants for competing and actively improving individual health!
