Chief Administrative Officer
Amy Kurz serves as CAO at Martha’s Table, where she is responsible for the infrastructure and systems that allow Martha’s Table to best support strong children, strong families and strong communities. Amy has dedicated her professional career to nonprofit work, and she brings extensive experience in nonprofit management. Prior to joining Martha’s Table, she served as the Managing Executive Director of the Nonprofit Roundtable, which aims to unite non-profit leaders in order to address our community’s most pressing social and economic challenges. In this role, Amy oversaw the organization’s strategic and operational plans, and led its financial management. Prior to joining the Nonprofit Roundtable staff in 2009, Amy served as the Assistant Director of the Neighbors Project at George Washington University’s Office of Community Service, where she worked to connect students, staff, and faculty with community service opportunities.
Ann Dunn is the Assistant Director, Data & Evaluation and ETO Administrator for Martha’s Table where she provides technical and analytical support to the Healthy Start, Healthy Connections, and Healthy Eating Teams. She comes to Martha’s Table after serving as the Senior Data and Evaluation Analyst for Seattle University, where she lead evaluation efforts for the Choice Neighborhood Collective Impact efforts. Ann holds a Master’s Degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution, with a focus on post-conflict education systems, from American University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia.
Chanda Lupunga-Phillips is the Assistant Director, Human Resources. Prior to working at Martha’s Table, she spent four years as a Business Development Officer/Proposal Manager with JHPIEGO, a non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University focused on improving health care services and strengthening the capacity of countries to save the lives of women and families. Prior to that, Chanda held various management roles at American Public Works Association, DLS, and Berlitz International, where she managed multi-million dollar awarded global projects for the Departments of Homeland Security, Justice and Transportation. Chanda holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in English Literature and a Master’s in International Management from the University of Maryland.
Diarra McKinney is the Real Estate Advisor at Martha’s Table where he is responsible for the development of Martha’s Table’s new 43,000 square foot headquarters, the Commons at Stanton Square, located in Ward 8 of Washington, DC. Diarra works with Martha’s Table leadership and implements the organization’s vision to build a world-class new headquarters, which will provide early childhood education, middle school and high school education, and healthy food options for District of Columbia residents. Diarra is also the Director of Pre-development at the Neighborhood Development Company (NDC), where he serves as a project lead on several development projects that he shepherds from concept, site control, or governmental agreement through the entitlement and design phases. Prior to NDC, Diarra was Director of Acquisitions at Ditto Residential, where he managed acquisitions of new deals, and as Development Executive at Clark Realty Capital, where he focused on large mixed-use projects. Prior to his business and legal endeavors, Diarra spent two years as a High School Mathematics Teacher and Mathematics Department Coordinator at the Friendship Collegiate Academy where he taught 9th and 10th grade children in Washington, DC. Diarra is a native Washingtonian and a proud graduate of Washington, DC Public Schools. He received his Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Stanford University, his Juris Doctor from Yale Law School, and his Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
Bhumip Patel is the Chief Financial Officer at Martha’s Table, where he oversees all aspects of accounting and finance for the organization. Bhumip has over 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, and consulting. He has worked for a number of companies and nonprofits, including IBM and Bread for the City. He received his Bachelor’s in Finance and his Master’s in Business Administration from George Mason University.
Gary Stephens is the Assistant Director, Facilities Operations at Martha’s Table, where he is responsible for maintaining the infrastructure and systems that support the organization’s mission and vision.
Tony Washington is the Assistant Director, Retail Operations at Martha’s Table. He leads the Martha’s Outfitters teams at our 14th St and SE locations. Tony is a military veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years. In addition, he has worked as a government contractor, as well as in operations management in the corporate and private sectors. Tony is a husband, father of five, a basketball coach/player, and volunteer fireman. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University.
