Director of Healthy Eating

Caron Gremont is the Director of Healthy Eating at Martha’s Table, where she runs the healthy eating programs, including McKenna’s Wagon, a mobile food truck that rolls out 7 days a week, 365 days a year to feed the homeless and hungry at three established downtown locations, the nationally accredited Healthy Start Center, which feeds 200 young children breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner during the week, as well as our healthy pop-up markets, neighborhood markets held in elementary schools and community centers throughout D.C. where children, their families, and neighbors can shop at a pop-up grocery market selecting nutritious food to take home – always at no cost.

Mekuria Adera

Mekuria Adera is the Assistant Director of Learning, Evaluation and Research with Martha’s Table’s Healthy Eating program. Prior to joining Martha’s Table, Mekuria worked with a number of international organizations, including Population Services International (PSI), Population Council, UNICEF, Save the Children Sweden, and John Snow Inc (JSI), where he was responsible for designing and managing large scale research, evaluation, social marketing and behavior change communications programs. Mekuria holds post graduate diploma in Project Management from the University of Cambridge International Examinations and a Master’s of Art from Addis Ababa University in International Relations.

 

Lindsay Morton

Lindsay Morton is the Assistant Director of Healthy Markets with Martha’s Table’s Healthy Eating program, where she oversees activation and execution of free, pop-up style markets based in schools and communities throughout the District that deliver healthy food and fun to students, families, and neighbors. Prior to joining Martha’s Table, Lindsay served as the Marketing and Community Relations Director for Whole Food Market and supported the development and opening of a community based, low-cost store model for the food retailer in New Orleans. She has also worked in marketing and corporate sponsorship development for the NFL Players Association and the New Orleans Pelicans (NBA). Lindsay is a third generation Washingtonian and holds a Bachelor’s in Business Management and Marketing from Boston College and a Master’s in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University.
