Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Martha’s Table!

We rely on volunteers in our Healthy Start, Healthy Eating, and Martha’s Outfitters programs. Last year, 18,000+ volunteers stood with us, allowing us to expand our reach and impact.  Martha’s Table volunteer program uses an online scheduling system. With this scheduling system:

  • Volunteers can sign up for their own shifts;
  • Groups can see what opportunities are available based on group size; and
  • Volunteers can add their name to a waitlist.

Please read our Volunteer Waiver and check out our Volunteer Code.  Click below to browse and sign up for volunteer shifts with us!

OFFSITE OPPORTUNITIES

We also encourage volunteers who are unable to volunteer with us onsite to make sandwiches, muffins, trail mix, or hygiene kits. Please see our food donations page for more information.

*Fun Fact*: Volunteers can fulfill their community service hours offsite by donating sandwiches or trail mix to Martha’s Table. Our volunteer program gives 2 hours of community service per loaf of bread and 1 hour for 20 bags of trail mix. Please see our detailed food donation guidelines page for additional information on how to prepare your donation.

Martha’s Table is pleased to announce our partnership with Food Rescue US, a new organization in town that enlists volunteers to use their own cars to transport excess healthy food from businesses to people. Using an app, Food Rescuers self-select food runs to fit their schedules. An average rescue takes about 30 minutes and is extremely rewarding! Check out http://foodrescue.us and mention Martha’s Table or contact the DC Site Director, Kate Urbank at kate@foodrescue.us for more information.

PRE-COURT & COURT MANDATED VOLUNTEERING

Please email volunteer@marthastable.org to set up an interview. We are unable to accommodate any charges regarding violence, weapons, or theft.
