Thank you for your interest in making a clothing, houseware, or technology donation to Martha’s Table! In addition to providing an affordable shopping option in the District, our Martha’s Outfitters stores also ensure no-cost clothing and housewares for thousands of neighbors in need through its Outlet program. Every donation we receive to Martha’s Outfitters helps advance our work and mission. Thank you for your support!
We request cold-weather clothing donations (pants, jackets, sweaters) from September-March and warm-weather clothing donations (shorts, tank tops, dresses) from April-August. To learn more about our specific needs, refer to our wish list below!
Please neatly fold clothing and housewares donations into boxes or sturdy shopping bags. To ensure the utmost respect for Outfitters patrons, we ask that donations please not be dropped off in garbage bags.
Gently used seasonal clothing that is clean and in good condition! We are particularly in need of plus size clothing for men and women, school uniforms for children, and new, unopened socks and undergarments for men, women, and children.
Children’s books, which we distribute at no-cost, to ensure that children and families can have home libraries.
Clean and fully functioning kitchenware, including pots, pans, dishes, glassware, utensils, and small electric appliances, as well as bed and table linens, working lamps with shades, non-CRT computers, flat screen monitors and televisions, and other small, working electronics.
Small furniture items, such as bedside tables and coffee tables, that are in good condition. • Items for children are always in demand! So that we ensure only the best, safest products for children, we ask that donations of car seats, strollers, toys, and portable swings be brand new.
We are also always in need of children’s school uniforms.
In winter, we require additional donations of hats, scarves, gloves, coats, and sweaters. Year-round, we are in need of toiletries donations, which we distribute to neighbors in need. Please think of us during your next hotel stay!
In order to uphold our values of dignity and respect, and ensure that Outfitters patrons can select from high-quality items, please refrain from donating clothing with tears, stains, holes, broken zippers, or missing buttons; shoes with cracks, holes, or mold; and broken jewelry or housewares. While we are so grateful for your support, we unfortunately cannot accept the following items: mattresses, box springs, large furniture or dissembled pressed-wood items, plastic or wire hangers, or medical equipment. Please refer to our wish list when considering a donation!
In addition to the many items we accept for our Martha’s Outfitters stores, we also accept technology donations for our education programs and administrative offices.
