Building a Brighter Future: Ms. Flo’s Story

I spend each day preparing food for hundreds of neighbors through McKenna’s Wagon and our on-site afternoon meal service. Food has always been a way to express my love and gratitude, and I strive for excellence with everything I cook. I think about the people to use our meal services, and I want them to know that someone really cared about them while it was prepared. What we do here is about more than feeding mouths and bellies–it’s about feeding their souls. It doesn’t matter if I’m cooking for a king, a family member, or one of our neighbors. I take the same approach every time. In fact, I believe that all of the people who receive meals from Martha’s Table are kings and queens, and I wouldn’t serve them anything I wouldn’t eat myself.
